Independent Living Skills Program Conference
Members of St. Elizabeth’s Guild helped with registration and lunch at the recent Independent Living Skills Program Conference held at Laser Tag in Metairie. The young adults in attendance listened to speaker Norman Robinson and participated in group activities to help them transition into an independent living environment. St. Elizabeth’s Guild sponsored a photo booth, tokens for games and gift cards that were given away as door prizes.
We are almost at the end of the day, and I am thrilled to let you know that with your help, we’ve exceeded the $25,000 goal for Head Start, which means we will receive an additional $8,000 from St. Elizabeth’s Guild! As a result, more than $33,000 has been raised in ONE Day to help the 440 children enrolled in Catholic Charities Head Start across New Orleans!
St. John’s Head Start recently participated in the GiveNOLA day with lagniappe dollars in matched funds from the Greater New Orleans Foundation. In addition, long-time angel of St. John Head Start, St. Elizabeth’s Guild pledged an $8,000 donation if the community donated $25,000 or more to St. John’s Head Start. That goal of $25,000 was exceeded and the Head Start Programs of Catholic Charities received over $33,000 in donations.
